Construction at MSCS

June 27th, 2017

On the first of June the BIRD Construction company started working at Menno Simons Community School. They are building a new gym, and 3 new classrooms. They are also remodeling the inside of the school. It will take about 75 workers to get the job done. They will need to use a crane, excavator, big trucks, pile driver, and skid steer. The pile driver is drilling holes for the pilings so the cement trucks can fill them.  The skid steer is hauling the dirt away and bringing the rebar pilings to the holes. The crane will take the portable away and the excavator was used to dig holes for plumbing. I talked to the foreman and asked him how he knew that he liked construction, if he went to school and for how long. He had always like building and he went to school for three years to become a journeyman carpenter by trade. He is planning to have the job done by August 2018
